Azerbaijan rises by four steps
Azerbaijan has risen from 19th to 15th place in the medal standings of the 27th Summer Universiade.
As of 14 July, Azerbaijan has twelve medals (3 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals = 9).

In the medal standings, Azerbaijan has moved from 22th to 17th place.

On 9 July Firudin Guliyev (weightlifting, 69 kg), on 12 July Haile Ibrahimov (track and field, running for 5,000 meters) and 14 July Yuliya Ratkevich (women`s wrestling, 59 kg) won gold medals, on 8 July Ulviya Karimova (fight on belts, loose style - 52 kg) and Christina Yovu (weightlifting, 58 kg), on 12 July Jabrayil Hasanov (wrestling, 74 kg), on 13 July Patimat Bahomadova (women`s wrestling, 48 kg) were awarded silver medals, on 8 July Mammadali Mehdiyev (judo, 81 kg), on 12 July Haji Aliyev (wrestling, 60 kg), on 13 July Irina Netreba (women`s wrestling, 63 kg), on 14 July Agasif Samadov (sambo, 52 kg) and Emil Hasanov (Sambo, 68 kg) won bronze medals at the Universiade.

Russia leads the medal standings (102 +55 +48 = 205).
