Iran summons 6 European diplomats over sanctions

Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday summoned six European diplomats who were supporting EU sanctions, state-run media reported.

IRNA cited an anonymous diplomatic source as saying that the reaction from the Foreign Ministry was harsh against six ambassadors and charge d’affaires who tried to justify EU’s decision of sanctions.

“Since their claims were not acceptable and used inappropriate literature, the meeting ended within less than 10 minutes,” the official told IRNA.

The official said important decisions will made on the issue.

Earlier, the European Council announced sanctions as of Wednesday on two Iranian individuals and one Iranian entity for “foiled attacks” on European soil.
