Problems in Italy related to TAP should be cleared - EU
The Southern Gas Corridor is very important project for both Azerbaijan and the European Union, Dirk Schuebel, head of the European External Action Service Eastern Partnership Bilateral Division, told reporters in Baku Oct. 14.
According to him, this issue will be also discussed at the meeting of the fourth EU-Azerbaijan subcommittee on energy, transport and environment to be held in Baku in mid-December.

The EU official also touched upon the problems in Italy related to TAP construction: “This is in the first place to be cleared between TAP and the different government which are involved. Italian regional authorities have to come to an agreement. I’m still optimistic that the solution will be found on time to ensure that in 2020, the first gas will be transported from Azerbaijan to the European Union”.
