The head of state made a speech at the event.
The Azerbaijani government adopts youth programs, hold different international, open youth centers and Olympic Sports complexes in the regions, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the Republican conference dedicated to the Day of Azerbaijani Youth on February 1.
President Ilham Aliyev touched on the role of young people in the development of Azerbaijan as active members of society. Ilham Aliyev also stated that Azerbaijani young people need to be professional and grow up with patriotism.
"We have right to proud of our youth. The main duty of every young Azerbaijani person is to strengthen the independence ", noted Ilham Aliyev.
Besides, the head of state highlighted the successes and social-economic development achieved in recent years. He also hailed the strengthening of Azerbaijan's legal and political positions in regard to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
