Ilham Aliyev meets with Bulgarian, Macedonian presidents
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev, who is in Baku to attend the 3rd Global Baku Forum organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.

The head of state stressed the importance of Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev`s participation in the 3rd Global Baku Forum.

Noting that strong partnership was established between the two countries, President Ilham Aliyev recalled with pleasure his visit to Bulgaria and the document on strategic partnership signed during the visit.

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said he is very interested in the 3rd Global Baku Forum organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center. Rosen Plevneliev hailed the role of bilateral ties between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, and mutual agreements and understanding in expanding regional cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views over prospects for bilateral ties between the two countries and a number of other issues.

On the same day, President Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov, who is also in Baku to attend the 3rd Global Baku Forum.

The head of state recalled with pleasure his previous meetings with President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov.

President Ilham Aliyev said bilateral relations between the two countries are developing successfully, and noted that there are good opportunities for the expansion of cooperation in the economic area.

Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s big achievements in recent years and wished the country success. Gjorge Ivanov described the holding of the First European Games in Baku as a big historical event.

During the meeting, the sides said that there are good opportunities for the expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries, and exchanged views over the issues related to the development of cooperation in energy, investment making, implementation of joint projects, education and other spheres.
