Azerbaijan expanding youth employment in agriculture

So far, about 1,000 young people have applied to join the project aimed at increasing agricultural employment (AMAL), Mirza Aliyev, head of the State Service for Management of Agricultural Projects and Credits under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture, told reporters in Baku Feb. 8, AzVision.az reports.

He noted that the project is the first of its kind. Its goal is to increase the agriculture employment in the regions, he said.

"Thus, interest in this sector will increase, innovations will be introduced and the opportunities of people involved in agriculture will expand,” he noted.

He added that proposals for participation in the project keep coming. The first 300 people who successfully passed the first stages will have the opportunity to participate in trainings, he said.

“We will provide financial assistance to farmers whose business ideas are more attractive,” he noted, adding that the financial assistance will be at an average of 2,000 manats.
