Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili made the remarks at the 3rd Global Forum in Baku on April 29.
According to him, there no minor issues and the principle of territorial integrity is the main question.
“There is one principle. If the principle of territorial integrity is violated in one place, the same is true is elsewhere. If the tragedy is ignored in one place, the tragedy will happen elsewhere,” the former president noted.
Saakashvili said the Caucasus has a bright future, but the ongoing problems there need to be resolved.
“The Caucasus is moving toward Europe and becoming more powerful. We want to solve the problems associated with the violation of territorial integrity and become an important strategic part of the EU,” he added.
The former president said Azerbaijan at the forefront in defense of Europe from a threat of radical Islam, and saves Azerbaijan saves Europe from energy dependence from one source.
“Europe must do everything to protect the future and independence of Azerbaijan,” he stressed.
