Armenia-Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform extend condolences to Azerbaijani People on occasion of Khojaly tragedy

The Armenia-Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform expresses its deep condolences to the Azerbaijani people on the anniversary of the Khojaly massacre – one of the most tragic and unprecedented in its cruelty pages of the Nagorno-Karabakh war.

Over the night from February 25 to 26, 1992, as a result of the actions of enemy military units, 613 people lost their lives, dozens of families were annihilated, hundreds of children were orphaned, and 150 people disappeared. The ancient city was completely wiped off the face of the earth.

The Khojaly tragedy is inscribed in the history of the most dramatic and bloody events of the late 20th century and is a monstrous crime against the Azerbaijani people and humanity, a gross and cynical violation of human rights, as well as ignorance of international legal acts.

On this difficult and memorable date for Azerbaijan, the Armenia-Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform condemns the policy of ethnic cleansing and war crimes against the Azerbaijani people and calls on the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan to make every effort to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully, so that such tragedies could never happen again.
