Head of the Egypt-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, professor Osama Al-Abd signed a statement on the 27th anniversary of Khojaly Tragedy on behalf of the group members. Statement has been sent to deputy, head of the Egypt-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, Govher Bakshaliyeva.
The statement reads:
'On February 26, 1992, Armenian military committed an act of genocide against the 7,000 population of the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly. We share the grief of family members of innocent people who lost their lives during the Khojaly tragedy.We hope that the conflict wil be settled in accordance with the international law and principles, as well as the UN resolutions'.
