Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev greeted his Georgian counterpart Salome Zurabishvili and congratulated her on winning presidential elections. President Aliyev expressed his confidence over the importance of Zurabishvili 's visit for the development of the friendship ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
"I believe that our discussions will prove the close relationship between our countries. We carry out cooperation in many fields such as politics, economy, culture, transport and energy. Of course, we will discuss the directions for future cooperation during your visit", Ilham Aliyev highlighted.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili thanked President Aliyev for receiving them and expressed her satisfaction regarding her first regional visit to Azerbaijan. "All presidents of Georgia have been friends of Azerbaijan and I am continuing this friendship, as well. There are many prospects in the region and the world for expanding the relations between our countries. I am sure that we will discuss the new initiatives regarding the prospects", added Salome Zurabishvili.
