  Georgian president pays respect to Azerbaijan

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, who is on an official visit in Azerbaijan, has visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, AzVision.az reports referring to the press service of the Azerbaijani president.

The Georgian president also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

President Zurabishvili has visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.

A guard of honour was lined up for the Georgian president there.

President Zurabishvili paid tribute to Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity.

She laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

A military orchestra played the national anthems of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
