 Saudi Arabia eyes to expand investment co-op with Azerbaijan

Saudi Arabia proposes to create a roadmap with Azerbaijan to expand cooperation and increase investments, Governor of the General Investment Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ibrahim bin Abdul Rahman Al-Omar said.

Ibrahim bin Abdul Rahman Al-Omar made the remarks at the meeting with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov in Baku, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry on March 5.

Al-Omar stressed that Saudi Arabia is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan and increasing investments in the fields of agriculture, tourism, transport and energy.

In turn, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov spoke about the current cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, including within OPEC +, the situation in the field of alternative energy, oil and gas in Azerbaijan, as well as new projects and opportunities for cooperation.

Shahbazov stressed the role of the Technical Commission between the ministries of the two countries in the implementation of new proposals for cooperation.

The views on the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding with ACWA Power company in the field of alternative energy, as well as the participation of Saudi Arabian companies in the petrochemical industry and gas processing industry were exchanged during the meeting.
