 Azerbaijani president receives delegation led Turkish parliament speaker -  UPDATED

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop.

 

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Mustafa Shentop on the victory in the Turkish Parliament Speaker elections and expressed satisfaction with his first visit to Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev noted that the first high-level visits between Azerbaijan and Turkey has become a tradition and proves the friendship and brotherhood relations between the two countries. President Aliyev recalled the solemn march of the Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers at the military parade to mark the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Baku. The head of state also highlighted the significance of the bilateral and regional cooperation between the two countries. 

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop stated that he was pleased to make his first official visit to Azerbaijan after his election and extended Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s greetings to President Ilham Aliyev. Shentop emphasized the importance of high-level bilateral visits in the development of Azerbaijan-Turkey bilateral relations. The Turkish speaker also underlined that Turkey supports Azerbaijan's position in the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and international law and justice.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s greetings and asked Mustafa Sentop to extend his greetings to the Turkish President.
