This is provided for by amendments to the Tax Code, which were discussed today at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.
The amendments provide for the extension of exemptions from March 1, 2019.
The import and sales of wheat, the production and sales of wheat flour and bread in Azerbaijan have been exempted from VAT since 2016. In 2017, the exemption was extended for a period of three years.
According to the country's State Statistical Committee, in January-February 2019, the volume of production of bread and bakery products amounted to 209,400 tons, which is 1.7 percent more than in the same period of 2018.
