Baku hosting 48th Annual Meeting of ADB Board of Governors
Today, the 48th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian development Bank (ADB) has kicked off in Baku.
The Annual Meeting, held in Heydar Aliyev Centre, was attended up to 3,000 participants, including finance ministers and other officials of member-countries, heads of central banks, representatives private sector, international financial institutions and civil society, well-known scientists, experts, youths and media representatives.

Key meeting, seminars and panel discussions of the Annual Meeting “Fostering Partnership for Development” will focus on a number of global issues. So, on the first day of the meeting on May 2, there will be held open press conference of ADB President Takehiko Nakao, then panels and seminars “Azerbaijan 2020: Toward leading and many-field economy”, “ADB-IMF seminar: Development of financial sector to preserve Asian progress” seminars and panels.

On May 3, well-known scientists and researchers will participate in the panels and seminars “Future leading countries for Asia’s Development Columns – China, India, Indonesia”, “ADB-Germany seminar: problems and opportunities in Asian cities available for living”, Reconsideration of Development Potential and development Models“ and other themes.

On May 4, official opening session will be held with the participation of members of Board of Governors. Thereafter, the discussions on “Reassessment of Energy Policy on Asia”, “Final debater of youths”, “Economy of Gender Equality”, “Trainings on natural disasters: Creation of durable societies”, “Impact of Infrastructural financing on local societies”.
