Sharifov made this statement at the workshop "Rethinking Growth Potential and Growth Models" being held in Baku as part of the 48th meeting of the ADB Board of Governors May 3.
“This is a normal process,” he said.
“The country`s central bank can prevent both excessive appreciation and depreciation of the manat rate in accordance with its monetary policy,” he said.

The national currency of Azerbaijan can both appreciate and depreciate in connection with the current situation on the world market, Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said.
