The workshop is being held as part of the 48th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Baku.
Babayev said that Azerbaijan has all opportunities to become a bridge between East and West.
"Today, China is the largest producer in the world, while the EU - the largest consumer,” he said. “Azerbaijan can become a bridge between them."
Babayev stressed the importance of creating a transport corridor among China and the EU countries through the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
He said that this will increase the role of the region in general and Azerbaijan in particular.
"Azerbaijan can play an important role in the transportation of goods from China to the EU,” he said. “We must not choose between East and West, consider these markets as two mutually exclusive options. We can cooperate with both China and the EU."
