Azerbaijani FM briefs foreign diplomats on Azerbaijani realities
Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov on the initiative of Azerbaijani Embassy in Switzerland has met with the delegation of a group of Ambassadors accredited in the country.
During the meeting, Mr. Mammadyarov highlighting Azerbaijan`s foreign policy priorities, briefed the diplomats on strengthening the independence of Azerbaijan on the background of world’s political arena, energy and transport strategy, diversification of the economy, as well as reforms carried out in science, education, and social spheres.

Touching upon the Armenia- Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict which is the main impediment in establishing peace and stability in the region, Mr. Mammadyarov said due to the unconstructive position of Armenia this problem has not been solved yet. To resolve the conflict, the Armenian troops should be withdrawn from the occupied Azerbaijani territories in accordance with the requirements of UN Security Council resolutions, the Minister added.

Sharing their impressions on considerable success Azerbaijan achieved within 23 years of independence, the Ambassadors said that the development model called “Azerbaijani miracle” has been formed.

The diplomats noted that achievements in political, economic and social fields over the last decade created opportunity to host grand sporting events like the First European Games. They expressed confidence that Azerbaijan will host this prestigious event at a high level.

The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
