The order says that according to official data of the World Organization for Animal Health, highly pathogenic avian influenza virus revealed among chickens in Turkey.
It is noted that the order aims to prevent entry of infectious and exotic diseases into the country.
"The Chief Inspector of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture gave instructions to suspend import of live birds, poultry products and eggs from Balikesir and surrounding settlements Kutahya, Bursa, Izmit, Bandirma, Chanaggala, Bergama and Akhisar Manisa in connection the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus among chickens in these territories”, - the report says.
