 Croatian Embassy opened in Baku

Today Croatia will open its Embassy in Baku, said Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov at a joint conference with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Marija Buric.

"Croatia is interested in participating in the "Southern Gas Corridor. We have discussed building cooperation in the energy field and strengthening our cooperation in the transport field. In 2013, Azerbaijan and Croatia signed a document on strategic partnership and an agreement on economic cooperation.", Marija Buric noted.

Buric also highlighted the position of Croatia on the regulation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in accordance with four UN Security Council Resolutions.

"Zagreb will host the Business forum in the future. The intergovernmental commission will hold its first meeting on economic cooperation in late 2019. This will open new opportunities for the discussion of some issues. Croatian companies are interested in energy, agriculture and tourism in Azerbaijan.  We support the new agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan. This agreement, which is an important part of Eastern partnership, plays a necessary role in developing mutual relations between our countries. We are working on expanding the projects", she stated.
