 President İlham Aliyev met with President of European Council - UPDATED

On May 13, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan İlham Aliyev has met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk, AzVision.az reports citing the Presidential press-service.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

Noting that Azerbaijan is a reliable and responsible partner for the European Union, Donald Tusk stressed that Azerbaijan's role in the region is highly valued by the European Union.

President Ilham Aliyev said that the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union develop very successfully and Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the expansion of these ties.

The head of state informed the President of the European Union, Donald Tusk, on the negotiation process on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The sides underlined the significance of the "Partnership Priorities" document signed last year between Azerbaijan and the European Union, as well as they exchanged views on the Partnership Agreement.

During the meeting, the sides underlined close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Program.
