Azerbaijan's Energy Minister to take part in OPEC event

On May 18, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov will visit Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo, reports citing the press service of the ministry.

The minister will attend the meeting of 14th Joint OPEC/non-OPEC Ministerial Monitoring Committee to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 19. Representatives of the participating countries are expected to discuss the current situation in the global oil market at the meeting. 

The Committee will also review the OPEC's presentation on the world economy and oil market development trends analysis, as well as, the monthly report prepared by its Joint Technical Committee.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani minister will hold several bilateral meetings.
