Regional Director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus Mercy Tembon emphasized the strong cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank during her term. Speaking of the successful relations between Azerbaijan and the World Bank, regional director highly appreciated Azerbaijan's advancement in 'Doing Business' report. Tembon also highlighted successes of Azerbaijan with World Bank under President Ilham Aliyev's guidance. Speaking of cooperation prospects with Azerbaijan, the regional director stated that the World Bank is ready to support Azerbaijan as advisor for preparation of the socio-economic development program for next year.
Regional Director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus Mercy Tembon also added that the projects for development of North-South Transport Corridor and self-employment had already been launched with experts of World Bank and related state institutions of Azerbaijan. Tembon spoke about work being implemented in fields of compulsory medical insurance and justice. Moreover, Mercy Tembon presented new regional director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus Sebastian Molineus and noted that the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank will continue in future.
Thanking for sincere words, President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated Mercy Tembon's role in development of successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank. The head of state also stated the importance of joint projects in various fields such as self-employment and infrastructure. President Aliyev added that the relations with the World Bank have reached to new level. The head of state expressed his hope for effective cooperation in fields of institutional reformation, creation of new jobs and development of new business environment. President Aliyev appreciated Azerbaijan's advancement to 25th place in Doing Business report and the country's place among top 10 reformer countries. President Ilham Aliyev wished new regional director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus Sebastian Molineus good luck in his activities.
