President Ilham Aliyev receives Turkish deputy PM
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Ali Babacan.

Recalling that Turkey was elected to preside over the G-20 and host all events of this prestigious organization, Ali Babacan once again mentioned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s invitation for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to attend those events.

Babacan mentioned that Azerbaijan’s participation at the G-20 meetings along with Turkey is of particular importance. The deputy PM noted the importance of the first European Games to be held in Baku and expressed confidence that the games will be organized at a high level.

The Azerbaijani president, regarding Turkey’s G-20 presidency as a great victory of the fraternal country, said that assessed it as the expression of high attitude toward Turkey`s role demonstrated by the world`s leading countries.

President Ilham Aliyev in his turn expressed gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for inviting Azerbaijan to the G20 summit, describing the invitation as a good example of friendship and fraternity between the two countries and the main factor in terms of demonstrating the Turkey-Azerbaijan unity. The head of state said Azerbaijan is preparing for the summit, stressing the importance of a special meeting held in Baku on Tuesday.

President Ilham Aliyev recalled that the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of victory in the Battle of Canakkale was organized at a high-level and expressed satisfaction with the importance of participation of numerous heads of state and government in these events.

Moreover, the sides praised the successful development of friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries in all areas and expressed confidence over further development of these relations.
