 Azerbaijani president receives delegation of International Union of Architects

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by President of the International Union of Architects (UIA) Thomas Vonier.

The head of state expressed satisfaction with the holding of the International Architectural Forum "Mass Tourism in Historical Cities" in Baku, stressing the importance of this event for international cooperation, AzVision.az reports. 

Noting that Baku has ancient historical traditions, President Aliyev said the Azerbaijani capital is developing rapidly, and modern infrastructure was created in the city. He said that Azerbaijan has already become an attractive destination for foreign tourists, pointing out the increasing number of visitors to the country.  

In turn, Thomas Vonier emphaiszed that Baku has become a venue for international events and investments in infrastructure have made a great contribution to the development of the city.

Vonier expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side, including the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan for organizing the International Architectural Forum "Mass Tourism in Historical Cities".  

Thanking for kind words, President Aliyev said that besides the development processes in Baku, great attention is paid to the preservation of historical heritage.

The head of state added that great importance is attached to the implementation of relevant infrastructure projects related to the population growth in the country.
