I personally ordered killing of Azerbaijani serviceman - Armenian Defense Minister

On 9 June, a serviceman of the Azerbaijan Army, Elshan Khalilov was killed by the Armenian armed forces in the direction of the Tartar district of the front. On May 30,  another officer of the Azerbaijani army Agil Omarov became a martyr as a result of the violation of the ceasefire regime by an Armenian sniper.

Two days after Omarov’s shooting, the Armenian side spread a message that a soldier of the Armenian army Sipan Melkonyan was killed as a result of the fire from the Azerbaijani positions in the direction of Khojavend district of the front. The Armenian Ministry of Defense announced that they would avenge for Sipan Melkonyan.

Today, Minister of Defense of Armenia David Tonoyan confirmed that he personally ordered the killing of an Azerbaijani soldier in the direction of Tartar district of the front.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported, David Tonoyan presented to a high award the servicemen 'who carried out punitive actions for Sipan Melkonyan's killing'. It was noted that 'high-level military personnel fulfilled their task.'

This statement once again confirms that a series of provocations carried out by the Armenian armed forces on the front line are directly commissioned by the leadership of Armenia. The Armenian Defense Minister personally ordered to kill the Azerbaijani soldier, or “take punitive actions”, and then rewarded those who carried out the order.

Of note, in response to Azerbaijani journalist's question during the economic forum in St. Petersburg, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan tried to refuse the involvement of the Armenian leadership in provocations on the front lines, the murder of an Azerbaijani soldier and violation of agreements reached in Dushanbe.

Pashinyan stated that the murder of Azerbaijani soldier was investigated. According to the Armenian prime minister, the weapons of the Armenian soldiers, who were on duty that day, and the video recordings were checked, and “it was established that the Armenian soldiers did not open fire”. “The collected pieces of evidence” were allegedly transferred to the Azerbaijani side.

Of course, Pashinyan’s statements are absurd, it is about a provocation made by a specially trained sniper. The statements about the verification of Armenian soldiers’ weapons are aimed at only evading responsibility.

And today, Armenia’s defense minister admitted that he personally ordered the murder of an Azerbaijani soldier. Moreover, he publicly rewarded those who fulfilled this order.
How long should Azerbaijan, given the current situation, comply with the agreements on reducing tensions, which were reached in Dushanbe?
