'There is active cooperation in the field of defense within the framework of Georgia-Azerbaijan-Turkey format'

Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria has spread information on the meeting between Levan Izoria and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov. 

Georgian Bureau of Report News Agency informs that during the meeting the sides expressed their hope for further deepening of military cooperation between the two countries.

Izoria thanked the Azerbaijani side for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Minister noted there is active cooperation in the field of defense within the format of Georgia-Azerbaijan and Georgia-Azerbaijan-Turkey.

Georgian Defense Minister also met with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar. Izoria thanked Turkey for its support to Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration. The sides also discussed security issues in the Black Sea region and issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.

Notably, a Plan of bilateral cooperation for 2019 between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Georgia was signed within the trilateral meeting in Gabala.
