Natig Aliyev: Turkmenistan interested in transporting its gas to Europe
Turkmenistan is interested in transporting its gas to Europe and construction Trans Caspian Gas Pipeline, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev told journalists within the business forum.

According to him, recently, four-sided meeting of energy ministers was held in Turkmenistan under the initiative of EU.

“Previous trilateral meeting has not yielded result. Turkmenistan had not participated in the meeting held in Brussels. This led to standoff among the parties. However, this meeting was held under the activity of Turkmenistan. Turkmen side noted its interest in participation in the Caspian and Trans Caspian projects. Turkmenistan is interested in transporting its gas to Europe. However, some issue in this regard have not been solved yet”, the minister said.

Aliyev underlined that Turkmenistan President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov also shared same position: “He noted he also liked this policy and intended to conduct it. But, it is still remaining undecided who will construct Trans Caspian Gas Pipeline. Turkmen side stated they are ready to sell 30 bln tons of gas to Europe. However, this is still only an intention. Because Trans Caspian Gas Pipeline does not exist yet”.
