ISIL Claims Responsibility for Deadly Rocket Attack in Eastern Libya
Islamic State militants claimed responsibility on Wednesday for yesterday`s rocket attack in eastern Libya that killed four children.
On Tuesday, media reports suggested that a rocket hit a residential area in the city of Benghazi in eastern Libya, leaving four minors dead.

Militants claiming loyalty to Islamic State said via Twitter that it was them who had carried out the attack.

Since fall 2014, Benghazi has seen clashes between Islamists and pro-government forces, with the latter trying to recapture the city.

Libya has been engulfed in civil war since 2011 when the country`s leader Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown and killed. To date, there are two rival governments in the country, one based in the city of Tobruk and the other in Tripoli. The internationally recognized government in Tobruk is fighting numerous rebel groups, including IS militants.
