EU and NATO different, but complementary: EU official
EU foreign policy chief says the EU and NATO have close cooperation
The EU and NATO are different kinds of organizations, but they share values and concerns in the times of crisis, the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said Thursday.

Speaking on the second day of the NATO foreign ministers meeting in Turkey`s southern Antalya province, Mogherini said: "We are obviously different in nature and in our approaches to crisis, but we share values and concerns in these times of crisis."

Saying the EU is aware of the need to increase its capacity to respond crisis, Mogherini said: "What is extremely important for us is close coordination on all different levels, in all the different areas of concern when it comes to intelligence sharing, when it comes to the new kind of threats that we are facing."

Mogherini said there are challenges that unite the EU and NATO, and she added: "We value cooperation."

"As I said, we are different but we can be complementary in some cases, in some areas and in some actions," said Mogherini.
