He made the remarks at an international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani diplomacy jointly organized by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and the ADA University, AzVision.az reports.
“Armenia still continues the occupation of Azerbaijani territories. If they [Armenians] want to enjoy the benefits of the region, it is necessary to abandon the policy of hostility and occupation,” Cetin said.
Today, Armenia is the only country that is suffering a defeat in the region, stressed the former Turkish diplomat.
“We talked a lot about this with Armenian diplomats in the 90s, but they avoided any contact,” he said.
Cetin noted that Azerbaijan and Turkey enjoy very strong relations and continue implementing large-scale joint projects. “Azerbaijan can be proud of its foreign policy,” he added.
