  Azerbaijan decreases oil transportation through Turkey by 3%

In January-June of this year, 120.82 million barrels of oil have been transported via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline through Turkey territory and it is 3.2% less than the corresponding period of the previous year, AzVision.az reports citing Turkish transportation pipeline operator BOTAŞ Company.

According to the Company, in January-June of 2018, 124.72 million barrels were transported through Turkey.

Oil, produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, is imported via the BTC pipeline. Additionally, Middle East producers' oil is also sent to Turkey territory with the pipeline.


Note that the BTC pipeline starts from the Sangachal terminal, situated in the vicinity of Baku. The daily transportation capacity of the pipeline is 1.2 million barrels.
