Colombian House of Representatives Committee decided on Khojaly genocide
II Foreign Affairs and National Defence Committee on the House of Representatives of the Colombian Congress has adopted a decision on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and Khojaly genocide.

According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry with reference to the Embassy of Mexico, the draft decision entitled "The Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict" has been set for a vote by the chairman of the House of Representatives, Hernan Penagos Giraldo on 30 July this year. The draft was unanimously adopted.

The document condemns the Armenian occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding regions of Azerbaijan, crimes committed against the Azerbaijani population by the occupation, violations of the rights of Azerbaijani citizens, in particular the genocide in Khojaly and the violation of the cease-fire between the parties.

Along with this, the decision calls on the Armenian government to fulfil the requirement of four UN Security Council resolutions.

The review prepared by Giraldo for the House Committee on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict indicates that the Armenian occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani lands poses a threat to peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, condemns the aggressive policy of official Yerevan, which resulted in the fact that more than one million Azerbaijanis fled their homes and became displaced.

Along with this, the review describes the severe consequences of the Khojaly genocide committed by the Armenian armed forces, reveals the chronology of occupation of Azerbaijani lands and notifies the presence of four UN Security Council resolutions, which call for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
