Lavrov: NATO Claims Ready for Contacts, But Makes No Practical Proposal
Although NATO has confirmed readiness to cooperate with Russian defense bodies, however, no practical proposals have been made on the issue, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.
Commenting on his meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday, the Russian top diplomat said:

“In fact, it all came down to this: ‘here`s a couple of phone numbers, you can dial them if you need.’”

“Unfortunately, when the NATO secretary general confirmed his readiness to develop contacts, especially between the military structures, he failed to come forward with any practical form of such cooperation,” Lavrov said.

NATO’s reaction to the Ukrainian crisis has been inadequate, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.

“NATO’s reaction to the Ukrainian crisis and to the choice of the people of Crimea, of course, was inadequate and showed that the ‘cold war’ mindset is unfortunately still in place. We have not received any answers to how NATO feels about violations of international law by holding an armed coup d’état.”
