 US aid to Armenia to increase to $ 84.404 million

The government approved on Thursday a proposal to amend Amendment 13 to the US and Armenian Governments' aid to a more competitive and diverse private sector.

The issue was presented by Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan, noting that the US Government assisted the Armenian government in 2010 providing a more competitive and diversified private sector to the US Government. On August 6, 2009, the agreement on assistance between the Governments for more competitive and diverse private sector was signed.

The financial allocations were made in the areas of private sector development, financial sector support, and infrastructure.

The total amount of US allocations currently stands at $ 80,704 million.

USAID's Amendment No 13 proposes additional $ 3.7 million in funding to support USAID projects in the area of private sector competitiveness and infrastructure development.

As a result, the total amount of US grants awarded under the deal will amount to $ 84,404,406.36.
