As stated, in the Azerbaijani part of Wikipedia there are more than 95,000 articles in different directions. azWiki is numbering about 50 active editors – no one newspaper of Azerbaijan has such a large editorial staff.
“Although Wikipedia is the fifth largest website in the world, in Azerbaijan it is not widely known and needs promotion by the media,” Elgun Ataliyev said.
Wikimania has been conducted since 2005 and Azerbaijan will be represented at the conference for the first time.
