OIC remains committed to contributing to peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is committed to contributing to the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He will also continue to provide solidarity and ongoing support for Azerbaijan, it is said in a statement to the meeting, which was delivered on behalf of the Secretary-General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, Azvision.az reports citing official website of OIC.

In the Meeting of the Contact Group on the Aggression of the Republic of Armenia against the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Secretary-General reaffirmed in his statement delivered on his behalf by the Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Al-Dobeay, the OIC’s solidarity with and continued support for the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as its endeavor to contribute to peaceful settlement of the crisis.

Al-Othaimeen said that the OIC General Secretariat is following up with deep concern the suffering of more than one million Azerbaijani IDPs and refugees.

It has urged the Member States and its organs to provide the necessary financial and humanitarian assistance to those affected in Azerbaijan.
