Heydarov added that serious attention is being paid to fire and construction safety standards during the construction of all facilities.
Relevant departments prepare emergency evacuation plans and conduct various trainings on the application of such plans, according to the minister of emergency situations.
“We intend to set up a command center to control all of the ministry’s resources and facilities from a single point,” said Heydarov. “In an effort to establish close cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the 2015 Baku Games, a workgroup comprised of representatives of various departments of the ministry has been set up and a permanent mediator appointed.”
Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
