  ADA University hosts conference on development agencies of Turkic-Speaking states

A conference under the motto "Promoting integration of official development agencies of Turkic-speaking States to the international aid system. Collaboration for effective humanitarian aid and development assistance" has been held at the ADA University in Baku.

The conference was held as part of the 7th Summit of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council), which will take place in Baku in the upcoming days.

Organized by the Azerbaijan International Development Agency under the Foreign Ministry (AIDA) in partnership with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the UN Development Programme, the event gathered representatives of official agencies of the Turkic-speaking States, as well as high-level representatives from regional and international organizations.

In his opening remarks, Vice Rector of ADA University Fariz Ismailzade emphasized the importance of the conference in terms of expanding cooperation among the Turkic-speaking countries.

Chairman of the Health Committee of the Azerbaijani parliament, head of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Inter Parliamentary Working Group Ahliman Amiraslanov highlighted the history of the establishment of the Turkic Council, stressing the importance of its activities. He emphasized the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev and other leaders of Turkic-speaking countries in establishing the Turkic Council and the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement.

Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Gismat Gozalov highlighted the successful projects implemented by the organization. He hailed fruitful cooperation among the Turkic-speaking countries in the field of trade and economy, education, youth and sports.

UNDP Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Alessandro Fracasetti emphasized the importance of such a cooperation platform within the Turkish Council. He also stressed the significance of establishing a platform for cooperation in the field of humanitarian aid and international development assistance within the Turkic Council with the aim of promoting greater economic development among its member countries.
