Date of municipal elections in Azerbaijan unveiled

Date of municipal elections in Azerbaijan unveiled

The date of municipal elections which will be held in Azerbaijan in 2019 has been announced, AzVision.az reports citing Central Election Commission (CEC).

According to the CEC, elections will be held on December 23, 2019.

Chairman of the CEC Mazahir Panahov noted that the last municipal elections were held on December 23 and the powers of members of municipalities expire on December 23 of this year.

M. Panahov emphasized that he considers it appropriate to hold municipal elections this year on December 23, and introduced this proposal for voting. CEC members unanimously accepted the proposal.
