Changes in speed limits on roads not planned for Azerbaijan
Changes in the speed limits on roads are not expected in Azerbaijan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Interior Ministry, Kamran Aliyev told Trend on Thursday.
"In order to increase speed limits the road segments should completely meet the requirements of road safety," Aliyev noted.

Different settings and other road elements which can restrict access to pedestrians can be noted as safety providing means, he added.

Currently, the maximum speed on Azerbaijan`s highways amounts to 110 kilometres per hour, on other roads it is 90 kilometres per hour, in settlements - 60 kilometres per hour and in residential zones - 20 kilometres per hour.
