Turkish Stream has no building permits - ministry

The ministry noted that without this assessment it is impossible to implement any project in Turkey.

“All the requests received by the ministry are posted on its website, and that list has no request from Gazprom,” the ministry told Trend.

Under Turkey’s laws, from February 1993, it is needed to get the environmental impact assessment for the implementation of energy projects in the country.

The first branch of the ‘Turkish Stream’ offshore gas pipeline from Russia to the west of Turkey is to be put into operation in late 2016.

It will be meant to supply the west of Turkey with gas, instead of its transit through Ukraine’s territory.

The other three branches of the pipeline are designed to supply gas to the countries of Central and Southern Europe.
