"Today is a historic day. I am sure that TANAP will be a long-lasting project that not only Azerbaijan and Turkey but also for other neighbouring nations will benefit from it", said the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the opening ceremony of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) Project in the northwestern province of in İpsala district of Edirne Province in northwestern Turkey.
Ilham Aliyev called TANAP an international cooperation project: "This project will build bridges and cooperation and create employment opportunities and long-term agreements among the countries".
President Aliyev also highlighted the significance of Turkey as an international power centre.
