Russia's Lavrov to discuss Karabakh conflict settlement in Baku

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will today arrive in Baku on a two-day official visit, the country’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Dec. 1, reports.

During the visit, Lavrov will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

“During negotiations with Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, it is planned to discuss bilateral cooperation, international and regional issues. The parties will also exchange views on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement,” read the statement.

In addition, a consultation plan for 2020 between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia is expected to be signed during Lavrov’s visit.
