A powerful blast occurred at a chemical plant in Kartepe region of Turkish Kocaeli province yesterday, Sabah newspaper reported on Monday.
Following the explosion a fire broke out at the factory, the newspaper said. The blast killed a factory worker, and another worker was seriously injured.
More than 100 employees of the factory were urgently evacuated.
