E-commerce market volume increases by 1.7 times in Azerbaijan
In January-July 2013 the market of electronic commerce (e-commerce) in Azerbaijan increased by 1.7 times compared to the same period of last year, thus amounting 1.3 million manats, a report of Azerbaijan`s State Statistical Committee said on Monday.
"Out of the goods purchased by the population in electronic form some 86.1 percent were bought on trade networks of legal entities and some 13.9 percent were purchased on trade networks of individuals. Some 92.8 percent of the market turnover of e-commerce accounts for non-food products," the State Committee`s report said.

In January-July 2013 the volume of consumer goods sold to the public in the retail market amounted to 10.7 billion manats, which is 9.2 percent higher than the same period in 2012.

Some 52.1 percent of this amount accounted for food commodities. The specific weight of non-food goods was 47.9 percent, thus increasing by 4.5 percent.
