Spectators must have identity cards at opening ceremony of first European Games
Besides the tickets, the spectators, willing to attend the opening ceremony of the first European Games, must show the identity cards, Aziz Bagishev, the head of the public security department under the Azerbaijani interior ministry, said.

The spectators are recommended to come to the Baku Olympic Stadium on time, that is, from 17:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

"While entering the express buses, the identity cards and tickets will be checked,” he said. “Then the audience will pass through the turnstiles. The identity cards and tickets will be rechecked. While entering the stadium, the identity cards and tickets will be checked for the last time.”

Bagishev advised the spectators not to bring the prohibited items. It is forbidden to bring the explosives, flammable substances, pyrotechnic and sharp items, any liquid in the bottles, big bags and other large items. The list of prohibited items has been attached to the tickets.

Some 25,000 representatives of the interior ministry and internal troops have been involved to ensure the safety during the first European Games.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
