Azerbaijan hosts third summit of Turkic speaking states` heads
The third Summit of the heads of member countries of Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States started its work on Friday in Azerbaijani city of Gabala.

The summit`s work is attended by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The main topic of the discussion at the third Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States should be the issues of cooperation in transport sphere and simplification of customs procedures.

During the event the discussion of issues related to the further development of cooperation between organization`s member countries will be held.

It is also expected that during the upcoming meeting Kyrgyzstan will pass the Council`s chairmanship to Azerbaijan.

A meeting of foreign ministers of the Turkic states was held on the eve of the summit, on Thursday.

During the meeting the agenda of the summit and the prospects for cooperation within the organization were discussed.

The Council was established in 2009 by the Member States - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey - with a purpose to make a joint contribution to peace and stability in Eurasia. The organization`s secretariat is located in Istanbul.

The city of Gabala is situated in the north of Azerbaijan, 220 kilometers away from country`s capital Baku.
