Tariffs for transportation of Turkmen oil through Azerbaijan and Georgia determined

Competitive tariff rates over transportation of oil and oil products transported from Turkmenistan via railways of Azerbaijan and Georgia have been determined, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC told.

A new protocol which determines new tariffs have been signed by Javid Gurbanov, the Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC, General director of Georgian Railway David Peradze, Rauf Valiyev, the Chairman of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping, Vahid Aliyev, Deputy Director-General of the Baku Sea Port, representatives of Dubendi and Batumi oil terminals in Tbilisi.

Competitive tariffs approved amid the maintenance of the existing cargo volumes and attraction of additional cargo in alternative routes will be in force from April 1, 2020, to November 1, 2020.

New tariffs will be applied to the transportation of oil and oil products from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan by ferries and oil terminals and transportation to the Batumi oil terminal by railways of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Note that in 2019, 271 thousand tones of oil and oil products were transported to Turkmenbashi port to the Dubandi oil terminal by tankers and 90 thousand tones to Alat.
