Ali Hasanov, the Azerbaijani president’s aide for public-political affairs, made the remarks during a joint press conference of the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the First European Games.
The top official noted that Azerbaijan is known as a source of alternative energy and plays a role as the main energy supplier to Europe.
“SOCAR is also preparing letters of intent on implementation of joint projects in African countries. We are trying to deliver African energy resources to Europe through SOCAR,” Hasanov added.
Hasanov noted that Azerbaijan won election to the United Nations Security Council through most voices from African countries.
“We have used the UN for the study of the problems of the African peoples. We will try to further develop relations between African countries and Azerbaijan,” he said.
